Mission
Better World Media aims to empower people to create sustainable lives, livable communities, and a just world with equal opportunities for all. Better World Media aims to broaden the environmental and progressive movement, and to re-enforce the work of other grassroots organization by offering opportunities to network, cooperate, and amplify each others work.
Better World Media is committed to educating young adults through exciting and skill-building internship opportunities.
Initial Projects
Better World Media will initially continue organizing annual film festivals in Brattleboro, Northampton, and Port Townsend. We will also develop new festival location sites, such as Bellingham, WA. The festivals may eventually broaden their environmental focus to other topics related to sustainability in the broadest sense.
See http://www.frugalgreen.com/pteff.html for an overview of our most recent film festival in Port Townsend.
Future Work
We hope to someday expand our operation to include workshops, speaking engagements, media appearances, and other ways to reach new audiences with our message.
Founders
Better World Media founders Lisa Farino and Peter Luyckx publish a quarterly environmental magazine, The Frugal Environmentalist, that shows readers how to make affordable, eco-friendly choices in their daily lives. They have organized three environmental film festivals in Brattleboro, VT; Northampton, MA; and Port Townsend, WA.
